Here is my Art Trade Artwork with lunalight.

We decided a long time before (5 months or so) to do an Art Trade but unfortunately I was so busy with my Bachelor Project. But now I finally finished it and I am so happy.

The main subject was to draw one of the tarot cards and I chose "The High Priestess". The illustrations is my own interpretation of her ;)

At the beginning my imagination of a high priestess was a bit different than it looks at the final Artwork. So after a few days I decided to draw a new sketch which looks way better than the old one.

After over 5 months Dominik and me finished our Bachelor Game "The lost books of Calon". We worked a lot together on this big project and it was really a challenge and we are no both soooo happy that the "end" has come. We are very proud that we designed this game together and we hope that many many people are going to download it and have to play it. During the process we learned a lot about designing games and we definitely improved our skills in so many different areas and we learned a lot form each other which was the best part of being a team:) WOHHOO!!

Bachelor Game Website and Alpha Version

We have to finish our Bachelor game in only 2 weeks and there is still a lot to do >.<. I made a litte Website last weekend and we decided to upload an Alpha Version for Mac and PC. It would be awesome if you download the game, test it and report us all bugs you will notice. That would be great and helps us a lot :) (Specially for Dominik, he is the programmer^^)

Character Concept "Nuzzler"

Here are some of my Concept Arts and 3D previews of the character "Nuzzler". It is the main character of Dominik Saur's and my Bachelor Game "The lost Books of Calon" which will be released in June 2011. I worked a lot on this Character Concepts and I spent many hours for the 3D Model and the Animations (wahh animating is such a hard job^^). I know it doesn't look perfect at the moment but I am satsfied with the result. The only thing I don't like is the texture (which is hand painted). I wanted that it looks like long fluffy fur but I think it looks to smooth (fur is a pain to paint!). But at the moment I am working on the environment and a lot of 3D Assest who can soon be implemented in the game, so I don't have time to make big changes on the model. So my day is full of modeling modeling, and more modeling of caves, barrels and so on^^ In my next Bachelor Entry I will show you some Concept Arts of the Environment :)

Rune Keeper and about Demotivation

At the moment I am very very demotivated to draw or paint any Artworks. Everytime when I try to improve my skills I think my Artworks look still like my older ones. That's so frustrating!-.- Maybe you know the problem about demotivation and Inactivity and so you can understand me better:( I also have to say that I didn't draw so much in the last few months. Actually there is also no time to draw because I am working a lot on my Bachelor Game which takes a lot of time every day. I did some Concept Arts and Artworks for my Game but it isn't really much. But it was something other than I normally do and it was fun (creating creature, drawing Tournarounds, painting Enviros/Levels etc).

In fact the whole thing is at the moment very painful and it is hard to motivate myself. I hope there will be better times and I hope it will be in June after graduation. So I can start painting again with a focus on getting better and better ;)

Anyway I painted a new Artwork "Rune Keeper" (my first Artwork this year which I think it looks ok). I did this to take a break from all the stuff I am doing for my Bachelor Game. It was an old sketch I did last year and I decided to color it. I am not very satisfied with it but you know why (demotivation blahblah) ;)

Allimania DNG und offizielle Blizzard Fanarts

Momentan ist es grad sehr sehr stressig hier bei mir. Ich verbringe eigentlich die ganze Zeit mir moddeln von 3D Objekten und malen con Concept Arts für mein Bachelor Game (ich komme einfach nicht dazu, diese 3D Models und Bilder zu uploaden-.- werd ich aber sicher noch tun in den nächsten paar Wochen), nebenbei muss ich noch dutzende Nachrichten und Emails beantworten, ein paar Aufträge zu Ende bringen (von denen ich aber jetzt definitiv momentan keine mehr annehmen werde bis zum Sommer) und ich bin auf der Suche nach einer Wohnung im Hamburg für mein Praktikum bei Daedalic *g*

So kommen wir aber zum Punkt: viele die WoW spielen kennen vielleicht das Hörspiel Allimania und haben mitbekommen dass nun die Fortsetzung "Allimania, die nächste Generation" veröffentlicht worden ist. Ich hatte die Ehre ein Gruppenbild zu malen, welches wieder als T-Shirt verfügbar sein wird. Da mich nun einige gefragt haben ob ich das vielleicht irgendwo uploaden könnte in einer schwarz weiss Version, dachte ich mir ich lade es einfach mal auf meinen Blog hoch (es gibt anscheinend viele Leute da draussen die auch so gerne Bilder ausmalen wie ich^^) Na dann viel Spass damit und nicht vergessen immer fleissig Allimania DNG hören!^^

Und nun noch eine weitere tolle Nachricht. Letzte Woche bekam ich ganz unterwartet Post von Blizzard.

Sie teilten mir mit das 2 meiner Artworks in ihre Fanart Gallery aufgenommen wurde.

Nach ÜBER EINEM HALBEN JAHR habe ich es nun endlich auch geschafft dass ich in diese Gallery aufgenommen wurde. Ich meine wtf??? ich habe es schon laaaange aufgegeben XD und das schlimme ist, dass sie sogar ein total altes aufgenommen haben auf dass ich gar nicht mehr stolz bin >.> Aber hey ich habe mich sooooo fest gefreut und ich freue mich heute immernoch *g*^^ Somit bin ich meinem Traum schon wieder ein Stückchen näher gerückt^^

Squich and Lynxie - Multiplayer Game for Kids

Hi my fellow Followers :D

I've been very very busy the last few weeks and I didn't really have time to draw something because I worked on my multiplayer game at school (ohh and also Cataclysm was released, so I often played WoW^^). I only did some few sketches but I will post them another time.

In this post I will show my selfmade game "Squich and Lynxie". This is my first multiplayer game project I made during the 5th term (about 10 weeks). Everything was made by myself (Programming, Sound Design, Graphics etc).

Our project topic was" Animal Migration" (given by a client of the Swiss National Parc), and I decided to make a simple and cute Jump 'N' Run Multiplayer Game for little Kids with the Characters Squich (a Squirrel) and Lynxie (a Lynx).

The Story behind: Squich and Lynxie are animals who are very hungry but their lovely forest was overpopulated by other animals and so there was not enough food for all. They decided to go to another forest where they will get more food and will stay alive. On their way are much risks like in real life and they have to pay attention to that.

The goal is to collects some bugs as much as you can find on your way and try to have more bugs than your companion. Also have an eye on your companion because they can hurt you and steal your collected bugs.

TheTools I used:

Engine: 3D Unity

Grapics: Photoshop CS4

Sound: Audacity and Reaper

At the moment you can't play it, because I didn't get the time to implement it in my website and I also want to animate my Characters ifrst (I didn't have enough time to do that and I think it is annoying that they have no animation-.-)

I also made a Video with some Ingame Scenes.

Sketches of the Month November

And again, November is over in a few days and I will post the sketches I've done this month. Cal (go and have a look at her website, she is very talented!^^) and me have been doing these exercises for 2 month and I hope we will draw a lot of more such sketches. It helped me a lot and I think I made some advances in drawing and painting:)

An old man^^ Inspired by the actor Ian McKellen. I love Lord of the Ring :D

Some hands. I used my hand and photos for references.

Inspired by a picture of Phoenix Lu. So it isn't really original^^ Aahhhh I love this soft painting style and also Chinese/Asian women :D

Some figure drawings I made with Posemaniacs 60 & 90 seconds drawing. Was really helpful. I should do this more *.* I really can recomment this tool who wants to train drwaing human anatomy :D

And last but not least a car^^ Never done such technical drawings. I am not so good at this because you always have to paint "correctly" (right perspective and so on...)

I am very busy at the moment. I am drawing a lot for some commissions and on some personal stuff...ohh yeah and there is also school work-.-

Yesterday I was spontaneously invited to an interview at the wownacht. I was so nervous and I really don't like to talk to so much people >.< But it was very cool anyway and the wowszene moderators are such kind persons :D So it was one of the greatest evenings I had for a long long time^^ Also the new Greyson Tales 5 Trailer was released with my newest Artwork :)

Last week I didn't have so much time to draw-.- (I hate school-.-)

My latest Artwork: Fanart of Lenne (Final Fantasy X-2). Maaaaaaan this took me very long, specially I was very very unsure how the whole composition should be for this picture. It took me 2 hours and I tried out everything (colors, background etc.)-.- And also the hands were difficult to draw. I really should making some studies about that :S

I was soooo looking foward getting this new game *.* I bought it last week and I put the disk in my PSP aaaaaaand....no battery-.- So I looked for the charging cable everywhere and I didn't find it-.- So I had to order a new one and I didn't receive it till today-.-
So I would say this was Epic FAIL! XD

Second Post for today..I worked yesterday and the day before on this Character Concept of my Original Character Ayla. I think it is much harder drawing just a character without a background and atmosphere. But at the same time it should look "alive" >.< Arghh I have much to learn-.-

Maybe I am going to use this concept for my Bachelor Game. But I definitely should work this concept out a bit more.

Fantoche 2010, Disney and a Concept Artist

Last week our school was presenting our selfmade games on Fantoche.
It was so stressful in the last few weeks, so I didn't have the time to do something other than working/finishing my game-.- But now it is finally over and I spleeped so much the last few days and played a lot (I need playing another game than my own-.-). I just needed a break of EVERYTHING and just sitting at home and relaxing. So I feel very very sorry I didn't have the time chatting a lot :(
So anyway I wanted to show you some pictures of my game "Imagical". It's a Jump'n'Run Adventure, where the player is a fairy and flying through the magical worlds which based on shadow plays. You have to find all magical book to help the fairy to complete the fairy tale. It is very simple :) I was not sure if I am going to upload the game here, because you need a XBOX 360 Controller to play it.
But if you wanna game it anyway, let me know and I will upload it ;)

I also had the chance to talk with a Disney Art Director and show him my Portfolio. He was very exhausted about my Artworks and he told me, I definitely have good chances to be hired by a game company :) He also said I should focus on my Character Design and working out my own style a bit more. I was soo happy after this talk, that I am so motivated giving 100% this next few months and going to apply for some companys :D

I also had the chance visiting a presentation of Christian Lorenz Scheurer, one of the most famous Swiss Concept Artist in the world. You definitely should visit his website, because he makes so awesome artworks *.* Unfortunately he was so busy so I didn't could talk to much to him, but I am going to keep in touch with him per mail :D

Greyson Tales, der geheimnisvolle Fremde - Einige skizzen

Und wieder ist ein Weile um und ich habe letzte Woche mein neustes Greyson Artwork fertiggestellt. Ich muss zugeben dass ich nach meinem letzten Bild durch die negativen Kommentare ein wenig demotiviert war und am liebsten alles in eine Ecke geschmissen hätte. Doch ich habe mich nochmals zusammengerissen und bin eigentlich doch sehr zufrieden wie es am Ende herausgekommen ist :) Auch die meisten Feedbacks die ich bekommen habe, waren durchaus positiv und ich bin wieder motivierter.

Nun ein paar Bilder/Skizzen wie alles seinen Lauf genommen hatte:

Mein erster Entwurf, denn ich auch angefangen habe auszuarbeiten. Doch nach einer Weile erschien mir die Komposition zu langweilig und ich verwarf die ganze Skizze.

Dann nach einem guten Rat von meiner Freundin habe ich mich schlussendlich dazu entschieden, diese neue Skizze anzufertigen und habe mich auch an diese gehalten. Das ganze hat dann 15 Stunden gedauert bis es fertig war :)

Und Tada fertig war es^^!

Wenn ich mir aber das ganze nochmals anschaue und nachdem ich mir das Hörspiel anhören konnte, hätte ich den Worgen bzw. die Verwandlung noch imposanter dargestellt^^

After some good advices by a few watchers, this week I practised drawing human bodys. I bought a good Fantasy Figures book, downloaded some helpful tutorials and also collected some references with various poses.

I also searched for some tutorials with good color instructions but it is still ver difficult vor me-.- ( beside drawing humans).

And her it is my product on hard training during this week. It was very spontaneous and I never thought I would finish it.

I think the human anatomy on her body isn't as bad as before :S I used a reference to get some security of the "female form":)

I was very unsure with the colors. I don't know but I think specially her skin tone isn't correct blended. The light source comes form right behind the girl and (I am not sure) I think the colors are to bright :S What do you think?

Allods Online

I found this weekend a lovely game: Allods Online. And I wanted to share it with you.

It is a Free MMORPG and reminds a bit on WoW. First I saw some artworks which are very gorgeous and after I watched some Youtube Videos, I decided to play the game. I have to say it is awesome, I know it haven't these kickass graphics like "Age of Conan" or "Aion", but in terms of it is free to play, it's definitely one of the best Free MMOs I've seen the last few months.

You can choose between 2 Fractions. Every one has 3 Races and 8 different classes. I tried the priest and the druid (which is very cool, because he has a cat as a pet :) ).

Most impressive was that there are many players on the german server which is rare for Free MMO's and you can find a group very fast.

So I've you won't spent more money on WoW (or what else) I really can suggest to try Allods Online ;)

I am a bit bored and thought I gonna upload some old pictures I've never finished and will never be XD

This was a sketch of Tyrande I made more than a half year ago :S I really wanted to color it, but I was never satisfied with her pose and so it turned in my sketch file.

A kiriban picture I painted while a school excursion in a train. Never finished because I haven't enough time.

I painted after I woke up in a morning, was very addicted to the whole setting. I really wanted to finish it but at the end I was not in the mood of it-.-

Hilfe ich bin soooo schlecht....

Irgendwie habe ich momentan keine Lust in englisch zu schreiben, aber dennoch wollte ich mal meinen Kommentar zu meinem neuen Bild abgeben,da ich selber doch recht unzufrieden bin.

Normalerweise bin ich es gewohnt nur weibliche Körper, Charaktere und Figuren zu zeichnen (da es mir einfach mehr Spass macht und ich mehr angetan bin). Doch nicht desto trotz bin ich immer bereit neue Herausforderungen an zu nehmen und dazu gehört auch das zeichnen von Männerkörpern. Ich muss ehrlich sagen, dass ich Männer schwerer finde zum zeichnen als Monster, Tiere und sonstige Kreaturen. Dieses Bild ist nun mein erster Versuch einen Mann bzw. Jüngling darzustellen, ohne wirkliche männliche Anatomiekenntnisse oder Referenzen >.<

Ich weiss es gibt noch viel zu verbessern und bin auch immer offen für konstruktive Hinweise.

Deshalb wenn jemand ein gutes Buch kennt oder sonst einen Tipp hat, wie ich besser darin werde im Zeichnen von Männernkörpern: IMMER HER DAMIT!^^

3D Character Animation - Final Rendering

Last week in school! Lots of projects who have been "finished" :)

I finally rendered my 3D Animation of my Character Samirah. The movie is really short and it doesn't look like I planned it months ago. But for the moment I am happy I can put this project aside for a moment ( I want to go ahead with it maybe in summer). Next week I can fully give my whole energy in painting pictures and push up my portfolio :) So keep an eye on my website for some updates and open commissions.

Painting the background in this picture was a pain-.- I finished this picture 5 or 6 weeks ago and it took me a whole weekend just painting the background. The boy and the wolf was easy and fast to paint. I just wanted to show you some different versions of the background I made, I think it is very interesting to see it:)

This was my first rough sketch of the whole atmosphere of the picture. I was very confident with the colors and the composition:)

After a time I wasn't satifsfied with my first design and I changed the background colors to blue.

But the blue wasn't really nice. Remembered me too much on a Nightelf Forest-.- So I tried green and brown colors for a usual forest design.

Now I didnt' like the forest scene. It looked to boring-.- so I had the idea of a valley, because the audiobook plays in a valley.

Some color changes again, because I wasn't satisfied...

After this last picture, I tried to overlay different layers with different colors and played with it. And on one point, I get this beautiful color setting *.* which was very pleasent to me. And I have to say I am very satisfied with the end result :) Also the client was really happy with my artwork :D

First Steps in Character Animation

This is a Test Video of my work I did the last few days and week. Character Modeling (High and Low Poly) is not as easy as I thought :( and texturing is a pain-.- I needed hours painting the textures and the result doesn't look like I want-.- But animating is much easier and faster to do..In the Video below you can see some first steps of animating a character in a simple backgroundXDDD ( actually I wanted that she jump but the animation isn't finished so she looks more like an old woman XDD and I know it is awful-.-) Don't know how many time I will invest in this process until it is finished ( but in 3 weeks school is over anyway...)

Some Progress pictures of my newest World of Warcraft Fanart "Frost Nymph" Unfortunately I just made 4 of this picture during my drawing process-.-

1. Step: Made a rough sketch in Photoshop. The most difficult part for me was the hands-.-

2. Step: Here you can see which reference picture I took for my illustration. It was a sxreenshot of World of Warcraft.

3. Step: I put in some rough Background to get some feeling for the colors of the whole image.

Adding also some "special effect" ;)

4. Step: The final result. I was not very satisfied with the background because I didn't exactly know what to draw-.- Aquilia give me a helpful advice (Thank you^^!) and I thought it look better after that. Also did some color correction :)

FMX Stuttgart 2010

Yesterday I was in Stuttgart at the FMX. I t was very intersting, there where some nice presentations about Heavy Rain and the newest Batman game. Also some big comapnys where on the FMX like Crytek, Ubisoft, Disney, Pixar etc, Unfortunately only Ubisoft was there on Thursday :( But anway it was glad to talk to them :) They have some very nice people at Ubisoft and much goddies we could took at home ^__^

The most amazing thing was there was also a book store called Break Point Books at the FMX and I saw this awesome Artbook of World of Warcraft *.* I searched for this book a long time but it wasn't sold in Eurpoe-.- So I took the chance and bought it. Maaaan there are soooo gorgeous artworks in there I never saw. I am so happy I have it now at home :D

I am looking foward going to the FMX next year ^__^

Walkthrough "Rise of Ayla"

Here are some WIP's of my newest Artwork "Rise of Ayla"

It took me a weekend to finish it :/

1. Step: Rough Sketch and some texture brushes for the background to get a feeling for the whole picture.

Step2: Fill in some basic colors and shading. Now I get the idea for the whole composition^^

Step 3: Making first colors correction! More red and more contrast. Now it looks more intensive.

Step4: Now I painted the Phoenix and some special effects, like glowing and so on^^

Step5: Finished Artwork! I reduced some effects and corrected the phoenix a little bit, so it matched better with the background^^ And DONE *YAY*

I am a bit busy at school-.- So much work to do! *arrrrghhhh* At the moment we have (again! lol) a workshop for 4 weeks and we have to create a Egogame in cooporation with the Swiss National Park. I made some little artworks and graphics for the game :) I will post our Teaser in a few day^^

Final Fantasy XIII finished :(

After 60 hours of playtime I finished Final Fantasy XIII. But that isn't really the end for me. What's a game without achievements today^^ Just got just a few of them and my characters and their weapons aren't on the max level :) Yay looking foward spending more time on it :D

At the end I want to post both main theme of Final Fantasy XIII (english and japanese versions):

Greyson Tales - Part 1

Yeah..the new project I am working on has successfully started yesterday^^ It is a audio book and I did the illustrations for it. It is called Greyson Tales and it played in the World of Warcraft Universe :) I really can recommend it to all who likes listening to audio book :D

Awwww..I am very busy at the moment-.- I did a lot for school (Character Design and modeling, programming a new game, learn Javascript-.-) at the last few weeks and I didn't draw very much. but I started with Modeling my Original Character "Samirah", which was very fun to do^^ I am very happy with her but I am not very excited with the design (she looks to common and not unique) which really annoyed me (very good Character Design is not as easy as I thought-).- Anyway next 4 weeks I will have a break (cause of a workshop our school is giving^^) and I hope to do some new Artworks.

Ahhh I also took 1 or 2 hours a day to play the new Final Fantasy XIII, and it is such a phantastic game*.* anyone who has a PS3 or a XBOX 360: GO AND BUY IT!^^

It was a bit a stressful day (didn't know when I had school, daddy made an accident-.-) but at the evening I was eating at a fine chinese restaurant^^ I also bought me a new WoW Figure. It's a nightelf hunter and very detailed. I love her so much:)

Disneyland Resort Paris

I am back from holidays in Disneyland Resort Paris. It was so wonderful with all the christmas trees and decorations :D But there were so many many people you had to wait 120 minutes for an atraction-.- But anyway I am looking forward travelling there again soon^^

Wacom Cintiq 21 UX

Ahhh I can's believe it, but my boyfriend gives me a Wacom Cintiq 21 UX for christmas present...I never was so happy till now :D

So after a looooong time, I am finally done (with one project^^). I spent a lot of time on modeling my Rewrap in 3DS Max. I know I wrote it before, but I only can say again and again..it wasn't easy for me:S At the end I really enjoy modeling, I also think about learning professional character modeling with ZBrush soon, but for the moment I want to draw again on some pictures I never finished :)

Zombie Sketch

Yeah I was just a bit sketching a zombie for an new illustration I am working on. At the moment I am totally fascinated by Left 4 Dead 2. I love this game so much, it's so fun^^

I just can recommend it to everyone who likes funny multiplayer zombie games ;)

W.I.P Rewrap Tomb Raider Underworld

At the moment I haven't enough time to draw a new picture because we have a big schoolproject (and I also play to much CoD Modern Warfare 2^^).

Anyway in this school project we have to model a Level from our favourite game. I haven chosen Tomb raider Underworld (Level in Thailand). I am not really talented in 3D modeling and -.- I love drawing much more than modeling some 3D environment. This was one of my first steps in 3Ds Max and it took me a lot of hours and I am happy with the rendershots .

At this time I am still modeling because that what you see on the picture is just an 1/4 form the whole scenery^^

Done in 3Ds Max | many many houres (40 houres maybe?)

Sketches for a book

It's a long time ago I sketched something with my pencils, but I drew a few sketchy illustrations for a book of a friend of mine (it will be released on 23rd November). There are some scenes and characters from the book. I am not familiar in drewing Fantasy characters, because it's hard to look them authentic :S I also recommend you to read the book when it is out, it's a fantastic Fantasy story ;D

3D Modeling

I am very busy at the moment. I had some comissions I have to finish, personal works and also a lot of school stuff.

For school we have to model a Level from our favourite game. I chose Tomb Raider Legend, the Level in Thailand (I love the jungle atmosphere^^). Modeling isn't as difficult as I thought but my bigest trouble is modeling trees-.- I hate them so much! But for my Level Deisgn trees are one of the most important thing :S

Anyway here you can see a rendershot of my 3D Model at the beginner state.

Character Design Part I

At the moment I have a special "Character Design"workshop in our school. It's a very interesting and helpful course. I'm drawin a lot in school, about 6 hours and more. Very intensive by the way. Anyway it's first time I'am drawing and painting only with my Graphic Tablet and I was suprised how I have improved my skill in using the Graphic Tablet. At the beginning of the year when I bought a Wacom it was difficult for me using it correctly. I'am very happy I'm getting better and better in digital painting.

I show you some pictures of my Character Design process and documentation. I know that I'am not very talented in drawing character (I like drawing environments so much more), but I think the sketches aren't very bad^^
